On today's Russian airstrikes in Syria, President Khaled Khoja of the Syrian National Coalition said:
"I condemn Russia's military aggression in Syria today. Russia is not fighting ISIS. It is targeting civilians in communities that have rejected ISIS for the past year. It is using its military force to support the Assad regime's war against civilians. And it risks implicating itself in war crimes. The international community should condemn Russia and take urgent action to protect Syrian civilians through the enforcement of a ban on aerial bombardment. I am writing to the Security Council today to demand urgent action."
President Khoja is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly where he is pressing world leaders to enforce a no-fly zone as the first step towards resolving the crisis in Syria.
